Sorrow's Hopeful Child by squeekaboo Sorrow's Hopeful Child by squeekaboo
:iconshepaintswithblood: won my gift bag drawing, and this is part of the prize! This creature is a knote, a spirit born of a negative event- though not necessarily harmful themselves. She created this species and I really love the concept!

She was incredibly fun to draw and color, they have such unique anatomy and I always love having free reign with color schemes. The background was pretty fun too XD

I made the mistake of using the crappiest pen ever to try and ink this, but in spite of that I like the end result.

copics and prismacolor markers on cardstock.

Oh my gosh, yes!!!

I knew I wanted to see a knote in your style and it turned out just liked I was hoping with all the wild colours and patterns. I just adore this!

I really like the markings, especially the tiger'y stripes on her shoulder area and her speckled and striped legs.

That anatomy looks epic, you did a wonderful job on the muscles and I just love that face with the flowing tendrils of hair. It feels fish-like. I also like how you gave her lower body an almost abstract feeling with the patterns and swirls of her tail, this is something I have often done with knotes as well, going from a seemingly organic beast to the art-like abstraction of the tail shows just how truly inorganic these spirits are.

This knote is so different and I absolutely love it. I love how much your personality shines through, that is what makes this especially touching. Knotes are such personal creatures and I feel so happy when I see how personal they sometimes come out for the artists that might create their own.

So cute, so beautiful. Thank you!!!!:blackrose:

I'm so glad you like how she turned out! She was so much fun to draw and color, and I enjoyed adding the personalized aspects of it... I like doing pieces where I can take my own direction. I've been collecting up stuff to send you, and I'll probably have a package ready for you by next thursday! :3
